New Generation Africa 2011

On 2 August 2011, we hosted New Generation Africa, in partnership with Engage Skills Foundation which has been identified as the Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) we aim to work with in Nigeria. Through this conference we developed networks and contacts and looked to identify strong partners that will support the roll out of our programme in Nigeria, as well as utilising the resources and skills of partnerships we establish to build an effective programme. We'll work closely with Engage Skills Foundation to ensure we tailor the programme to meet the needs of all engaged, in particular the young people. With the financial support through the Global Community Links programme, provided by the Department for International Development (DFID), Futureversity will implement a bespoke development programme to capacity build and develop Engage Skills Foundation to become the Futureversity ‘hub’ in Nigeria.

Dine for the Future 2011

On Wednesday 11 May, we hosted Dine for the Future, an inaugural fundraising black-tie dinner and auction at the prestigious Savoy Hotel. Impressionist and comedian Alistair McGowan compered the night which has so far raised over £50,000 from the live and silent auctions and ticket sales. The evening was attended by celebrity guests including Danny Boyle, filmmaker and patron of Futureversity; Dizzee Rascal, international music star, alumnus and fellow patron of Futureversity, who cut short his holiday in Miami to join us, and Denise Nurse, television presenter and trustee of Futureversity. With around 200 guests, attendees were from a range of companies including the BBC, Barclays Capital, Freshman Consultancy, HSBC, the Olympic Policing Team, Kitkatt Nohr Advertising Agency and Morgan Stanley.

2010 Summer Celebration

The Summer Celebration Event was a brilliant evening of entertainment by young people who've been on the FREE summer courses provided by Futureversity in Tower Hamlets. The evening featured an exciting programme of art, fashion, film, music and performance created by young people over the summer and provided a perfect opportunity to bring to life Futureversity and showcase the incredible talents of the young participants. We also launched the new Rex Hall Award in recognition of the amazing and often life-changing journeys young people undertake as they set out to realise their potential and fulfil their ambitions.
