"Places available" doesn't mean there are places!

I enrolled for a course online that said there were places available, got my letter through the post on the 14th but have just realised that it says I am on the waiting list rather than enrolled. Now the course says there is a waiting list online and on my account ot doesn't say that I am enrolled so I have enrolled again.

It is the public speaking masterclass. I will be so dissapointed if I can't go as this is the last year I can do the futureversity, next year I will be too old....

I may be 'old' at 25, but I am still not confident in public speaking, and I didn't find out about these great courses until last year.

Exact same thing happened to me.It was for album in a week in camden summer uni.
the course has started and I've had no contact. just an e-mail saying I'm wait listed.
I don't know whether to go down to see if some people didn't turn up or just forget it.

Hi Nicola,

We have currently received over 2000 enrolments and are still updating this on the system. The problem at hand is that when a student checks online there may be a few places available but however from our end we are continuously inputting the enrolments and it could mean that within a short time these places are taken up. However as you are on the waiting list you can turn up on the day 15-30 minutes before the course starts, if those students who have been approved don’t turn up then you will take their place.

If you could kindly send an email to info@futureversity.org for the attention of the Enrolment team along with your student ID, they will be able to contact you directly and ensure that you are prioritised as you are very keen in attending this course.

Many Thanks

Maybe that is the reason I don't have a place then? I'm not a student, I did put on my form however that I was working. It would really help me with my career though. Being a student didn't seem to be a requirement.
