2013 Summer Programme - Give us your ideas!
Tutors, Partners and Venues wanted.
Futureversity
invites you to apply to deliver a course for us this summer! This year is very
exciting as we will deliver courses for young people across Tower Hamlets, the
Royal Borough of Greenwich and the surrounding areas, so we want to hear
exciting and innovative ideas from you.
We're
interested in hearing about a wide range of ideas and subjects that you think
will attract young people. In the past we've run courses for 11-25 year
olds as varied as Thai Cookery, FA Coaching, Private
Wealth Management, Get Into Architecture, Forensic Science, Street Dance,
Sailing, Documentary Film-making, Graphic Design...the list is almost
endless and the more innovative your ideas, the better!
To make the
grade to be a Futureversity course, we’re looking for an experience that young
people wouldn’t usually be able to access, whether this takes a vocational
aspect, is accredited or ties in to a new trend. Whilst providing an
enjoyable, interesting and unique experience to be a Futureversity course it
must allow young people to gain new skills and have clear learning outcomes and
provide progression routes to take the young peoples’ new skills further.
Courses can serve as a chance for young people to try something new, whether
for curriculum enhancement, a taster for higher education, training and
employment or just for fun. Take a look at our summer
programme in 2011 and 2012 and give us something new: http://www.futureversity.org/content/409/Summer-2011
Courses can
range from a one day taster session, a 2-3 hour morning or afternoon session,
all day sessions, run Mon-Fri for one week or two weeks, even for all six
weeks, be a residential, and anything in-between! Our courses take place
in a small number of hub venues around Tower Hamlets and Greenwich, although
specialist courses can take place away from these. Have a look at the
different timings and venues in last year’s brochure (link above) for a clearer
idea of our timetabling.
Below is
our short proposal form that allows you to give us a taster of any course ideas
you have, including costs, which we can then follow up at a later date.
We aim to provide value for money in order to maximise what we can deliver
locally, especially in the current economic climate, so please be aware that
this is a competitive tendering process. With the impact on funding
available for charities we are also extremely interested to hear about any
partnership work you are able to offer. One of the strengths of our
programme is the amazing partnership work we do with large and small organisations
across the sector.
Please be
aware that we receive hundreds of course proposal forms each year, so you must
complete all sections of the form for it to be considered, please e-mail
your completed form back to ellyna.spatchet@futureversity.org.
The deadline
to return completed forms is WEDNESDAY 6th
March at 4pm, to give us time to run any new course ideas past FAB,
the Futureversity Advisory Board. We will get back to you with a final answer
by the end of April (latest) to let you know if you are successful.
If you know
of anyone else who would be interested in running a course then please forward
them this webpage as we'd love to hear from them too.
So get your thinking caps on, we're looking
forward to seeing what you come up with!
